James W. Plaster, CFP®
James received his B.A. from Wofford College in 1997, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Economics and History. After two years in retail banking, he went back to school full time and earned an MBA from the University of South Carolina in 2001. He went on to finish a three-year Finance MBA program with Delta Air Lines in Atlanta and later worked for SunTrust Bank as a Vice President in Private Wealth Management. In 2008, he relocated to Asheville where he worked for BB&T as a Vice President in their Wealth Division until Spring 2013. James holds the Certified Financial Planner designation, Series 66 License, and the NC Life, Accident, & Sickness Insurance License. He is a native of Shelby, NC.
Jeffrey A. Gould, CPA
Jeffrey A. Gould received his B.A. in Accounting from St. Francis College in 1967. He began his career with Arthur Young & Co. in New York City. He relocated to Asheville in 1971, helping to form the firm Jacobs, Kledis and Gould, in 1973. Jeff works mostly with individuals and small corporations, providing advice on matters ranging from management to tax planning. He is also experienced in the community; Jeff has been involved over the years with Rotary, Mountain Area Hospice, Sisters of Mercy Services, Community Foundation of WNC and other organizations.
Harvey W. Jenkins, CPA
Harvey W. Jenkins graduated from Mars Hill College with a B.S.B.A. in 1978 and began his public accounting career with Patton, Hunter & Company. He has been awarded Certificates of Educational Achievement in Estate Planning, Tax Planning and Advising for closely-held businesses. Harvey works with a significant number of individual tax clients and provides accounting, income tax, and consulting services to small and medium sized businesses. He has been active in various community organizations and currently serves on the board of WNCAP and Little Pearls.
Shon P. Norris, CPA
Shon started with the firm as an intern in May 2000. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and his masters in accounting from Western Carolina University. Shon's practice focuses on income tax planning and preparation for businesses and individuals. He has extensive experience in real estate, medical, retail, construction, and hospitality industries.
He is very active in the community with service including Rotary Club of Asheville, NC Stage Company, Asheville Hatchfest, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Mission Hospital Foundation, UNC Asheville Foundation and on the advisory boards for both the UNCA accounting and management departments and the WCU accounting department.
G. Edward Towson, II, CPA
G. Edward Towson, II received his B.B.A. from Stetson University in 1980, and his M.B.A. from Western Carolina University in 1989. Ed joined Gould Mayo and Associates. PA in 1984, becoming a partner/shareholder with Gould, Mayo and Towson, PA in 1989. He works with a wide range of clients, including individuals, construction contractors and real estate developers, medical practices, and other small businesses, providing tax and estate planning and management advisory services.
Active in the community, he currently serves as the board chair of Givens Estates, board treasurer of the Asheville Symphony, board president of the Asheville Civitan Foundation, and is a member of the Asheville Debate Society, having previously served as the president of its board. He has previously served as the board chair of BPR, formerly WCQS Public Radio, chair of the audit committee and board member of the UNCA Foundation, board treasurer of The Community Foundation of WNC, and has served on the board of several other area organizations.
